Thought you were applying for an astronaut job at NASA by the length of this interview process. But that's just a Data Scientist interview at a random firm in Orlando. Here’s a breakdown of the process: 1. A round with HR. 2. A Zoom call with the second-in-command on the Data Science team. 3. A take-home project that’s not complicated but requires a couple of hours of effort. 4. An in-person round, which includes an intelligence test (?), an interview with the Lead Data Scientist and the Data Scientist from round 2, and open-ended challenge questions at a whiteboard. 5. A Zoom call with three other team members. 6. An interview with the president. After step 5, I was abruptly ghosted by my recruiter. He didn’t bother to update me after being so responsive before.

I really liked the company and the research I did, it seems like a great place. But I was super disappointed with how the interview process ended. After 3 interviews, including an in-person one, I took a test and had a good chat with my potential new bosses. I know what I did wrong in the interview, but I never heard back. I took PTO for it, got a parking ticket, and was ready to commit, but I wasn't even worth a simple 'we chose someone else.' I reached out after a week, they said a decision was coming, then I messaged again a week later, still nothing. I sent one more message to say thanks and that I was impressed. Still no reply. This, plus not getting the job, ruined an otherwise great interview experience.

Case Behavioral Technical

The interview process was well organized, starting with a screening interview virtually. Then there was a hiring manager interview, also virtual. Next, I had an in-person interview with executive leadership in Orlando. Following that, I had interviews with executives who couldn't make the onsite meeting. They also had a problem-solving assessment and a case study. I really appreciated the recruiter's communication throughout. VaxCare seems to place a strong emphasis on culture and role fit. It looks like a great company with a mission, vision, and values that are commendable.

Behavioral Technical

So I was contacted by an external recruiter. First, I had a quick chat with HR, then about a week later, I had to do a 30-minute logic test. After that, I had a 2-hour Teams interview with two Directors. Then, another week passed, and I had a Teams interview with three team members that went for a little over an hour. The recruiter said everything went great and gave me good feedback. But then, a week after that, the recruiter just told me they decided to go in a different direction. So, after three weeks and about 4 hours of my time, they didn't even give me a proper explanation or a personal call/email.
