First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Vapiano.
Pasta Chef
The interview process was pretty simple. They asked about my past work history in similar jobs and some normal, everyday questions. It felt like a relaxed process, and the person interviewing me was easy to talk to, so the whole thing was pretty chill and not stressful at all.
- Can you tell me about your previous experience and what your responsibilities were in those roles?
Cook
The interview at Vapiano was nice and welcoming. First, there was a quick intro. Then, they asked some basic questions about my experience, when I can work, and why I want to work there. The interviewer was nice and made me feel at ease. They told me about the fast work environment and team spirit at the restaurant, which I liked. I also got to ask questions, and they answered clearly about what I’d be doing and what’s expected. It was a good experience, and I liked how it was professional but also chill.
- Have you cooked pasta before?
Team Member
I applied online on Indeed and got a call the next day. Then I got an email for an interview. The interview was a casual chat, and the interviewer asked me about teamwork, my 5-year goals, and why I wanted to work there. Two days later, I was invited to an Observation Day instead of a trial shift, which sounded cool. They even gave me a £20 voucher. The Observation Day was tough, though. I had to walk around the restaurant for 2 hours and ask questions. After about an hour, I ran out of questions and just talked to staff and watched. The next morning, I was told I didn't get the job because I was too shy, which I think was because I was unsure about the Observation Day. My feedback is to either change the process or shorten the time because it was awkward and unclear what they wanted. They're a nice company, but the process was odd.
- Tell me about a time you were a good team player.
- What are your plans for the next five years?
- Why are you interested in working at Vapiano?
Marketing
After submitting my online application, the HR department at Vapiano reached out via email to invite me for an in-person interview. This interview was conducted over the phone with the relevant department. They asked general questions about me and my background, as well as more specific ones about my interest in the company and my strengths and weaknesses.
- How would your best friend describe your strengths and weaknesses?
