First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Vantage Partners.
Learning Systems Administrator
I had a phone interview with an HR rep. It seemed to go well and she seemed nice. But then I didn't hear anything for a month. When she finally got back to me, the job had changed from what it was advertised as. It's weird they'd advertise a job and then change it after interviewing people. It felt like a waste of my time.
- Can you describe your technical background?
- What experience do you have with LMS platforms?
Analyst
I had a bunch of phone interviews, first with HR, then a Principal, my future boss, and a Consultant to give me a feel for the daily work. After those, I had a 30-minute timed case study at home. I aced it! Then I went in for a 9am-12pm session with different departments, including another case study. I got great feedback and felt good about it, but I didn't get an offer. The HR person who was so responsive before stopped replying when I asked for feedback.
- Research a recent merger and explain the reasons for it within 30 minutes.
- Complete a puzzle with missing pieces and unexpected challenges during the in-person interview.
- I really enjoyed both case studies, as they gave me a taste of the work and made me enthusiastic about the role.
Consultant
I applied online and heard back from the HR director within two weeks for an initial phone chat, mostly to go over my background and what I was looking for. After talking with HR, I had another phone call with a principal. They gave me a good rundown of the company, the work they do, and the different practice areas. The following week, I went to their office for four interviews. Two of these included a case study or analytical task. One interview was with a partner. I was meant to have a fifth interview, but the person wasn't available, so the next week I went back for two more interviews. I got an offer by the end of that week. The whole experience was really good. Everyone was friendly, answered everything I asked, and really showed me their company culture and what consulting is like there. After the offer, five people I interviewed with reached out to congratulate me and offer to answer questions before I decided.
- What are your reasons for potentially not receiving an offer after this whole process?
Research Analyst
Had a phone interview with HR, then another phone interview with an analyst. After that, it was a 6-hour interview day with other candidates. This day included an info session, a few one-on-one interviews (one was a case study), and a group exercise. The one-on-one interviews were mostly behavioral, so focus on those. Vantage really cares about fit.
- Tell me about a time you disagreed with your supervisor.
