Research Administrator
The interview process was as advertised online. It began with a screening call with HR, then an interview with the hiring manager. Both conversations were pleasant and easygoing, and they were good about responding to emails.
- Can you describe a specific experience where you encountered a challenge, detailing your actions to resolve it and the eventual outcome?
Postdoctoral Fellow
This interview is to learn more about you and what you're interested in. We want to know about your future projects and what you expect to gain from this opportunity.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- What are your career aspirations beyond this fellowship?
- Could you elaborate on your planned future projects?
Bioinformatics Analyst
I applied on VARI's website and had a Skype call with the team leader and some lab people (about 40 mins). After that, I had an on-site interview. The on-site involved meeting HR, different lab members, and giving a project presentation.
- Tell me about a past Bioinformatics project you worked on.
- What's a Bioinformatics technology you're excited about and want to learn more?
Postdoctoral Fellow
So, if they like you, you have to give a seminar. Then, you'll meet with everyone in the group or lab face-to-face, either before or after the seminar. Your supervisor might also ask you about your past jobs and why you're applying for this role. It's pretty straightforward.
- What's your reason for leaving your last job?
