First, there was a phone call, then I went to the corporate office for an interview. After that, I had a multi-person interview at the local office. The process has probably changed by now as all the people I interviewed with at the top are gone... that tells you something. The current President and VP of Operations can't compare to the people who were in office when I was hired.

The interview process was really smooth. The hiring managers asked questions straight from my resume. Some of the questions were standard behavioral ones, like "what made you consider this position" and "how can you help me improve the current situation." They just want to see if you're a decent fit to solve the problems they're having right now.

I got a call from HR to come into the office. She walked me through the interview process for the department and explained the specifics of the job. She wanted to make sure I understood the process and the expected work hours. Even though the manager and coordinators seemed hesitant to hire me due to my race, and another employee who applied after me got hired because he was white, she assured me she would step in. I had to wait a bit until she finally called me in for the interview.
