Got a call from a recruiter, chatted for about 30 minutes about my resume, the job, and salary. Waited almost two months for the next step. The second interview was at their office with the Branch Manager. It was a good chat about operations and my background. Then, I had a third interview where we visited customers and talked about real-life situations. They didn't offer me the job because I lacked financial management experience for the role, but they liked me and might have another position later. It seems like a great place.

It was a three step process. First, I was interviewed by the field supervisor in a group with 8 other potential hires. The second interview was with the Branch Manager, which felt like a fishing expedition to pick my brain. The third interview was a phone interview with the national sales manager. at the end of the interview he asked me to send him some information about a large meeting I was attending, indicating he wanted to attend and also meet with me. I emailed him the information and never heard another word from him or anyone else. I tried to contact him by phone and email to no avail. Again they were on a fishing trip.

A recruiter reached out after seeing my resume and we had a good initial chat about the company and the Estimator role. He asked about my interests and what I was looking for. It was a relaxed conversation. He then passed my info to the Chief Estimator to set up an interview. I heard back the day after our call and the interview was scheduled for that Friday. This was the most laid-back interview I've ever had. The Chief Estimator talked about the job, asked standard questions like 'tell me about yourself', and showed me the software they use. I also met some of the Estimators. He mentioned introducing me to some other women in the office, but they were out of town. It felt like he was trying to convince me to take the job. I felt positive about it afterwards. On Monday, the recruiter called to say an offer was coming. The Chief Estimator emailed the offer, which I accepted, and I started work the following Friday.

The whole process was quite a bit of a hassle. Valley Crest definitely has a high opinion of themselves, which is good and all, but I felt some of the managers might be a little *too* full of themselves. There were 4 interviews total, and they were all out of town. The last one was a marathon, lasting over 4 hours. They actually gave me a tour and showed me around like the job was already mine.
