First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Valley Metro.
Customer Service Representative
They did a phone screen first and then a panel interview. The questions weren't hard, just normal behavioral questions about your past experiences. You'll need to know directions, so knowing your north, south, east, and west is a plus. It's easy if you know the city's streets.
- Can you tell me about a time you had to deal with an angry customer?
Chief Procurement Officer
The interview process was quite straightforward. It started with a phone call with HR, then a panel interview with four members of their executive leadership team, and finally, an interview with their CEO and other ELT members. HR was responsive and a pleasure to interact with.
- What is your 12-month plan?
Planner
There were two interview rounds, with several people interviewing each candidate. The interviews were originally planned for Skype but were rescheduled for an in-person format. The first interview involved a 5-person panel, and the second interview had a 3-person panel.
- Can you start by telling us about yourself?
Program Coordinator
The CEO gave me a call to see if I was interested in working for them and told me where to find the application and job description online. I applied and got a call for an interview within days. I had an interview with a 7 member panel. The panel members were transit leaders from different cities who had lots of transit experience.
