First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Vallen.
Manager
The process is clear and straightforward, aiming to find the best candidate. They address any doubts you might have. There are psychometric tests. Most interviews were online, and everyone showed good software knowledge and adapted well to the virtual format, which is something we've all learned quickly. I'd also highlight that there's less tension; it feels more like a peer-to-peer conversation, more direct and confident. The interview has become more of a professional discussion, as I believe it should be. We shouldn't feel inferior or just wait to see what happens without self-assurance, although I know it's tough sometimes.
- Can you share 3 strengths you have as a leader in the region?

The whole process took around three weeks. First, I spoke with the manager, and then with the department director. Both interviews were done over Teams. They said I'd hear back within two weeks after the second interview, but I emailed them about three weeks later and still haven't heard anything.
- Can you tell me about a time you managed a team project and the difficulties you faced?
- What makes you want to switch your career path?

First, you have to record two videos in English answering some questions, which is pretty straightforward. After that, there's an interview with two people. Be aware, though, that they don't react well if you inquire about the salary, even though it's lower than what other companies in the area offer for the same position.
- In what ways have you exceeded expectations?
- What motivates your interest in this company?
Sales Support
The phone interview went really well and they said I'd hear back about a second interview in a few days. I sent a thank you note and then waited two weeks to follow up with an email. Another week passed, so I left a voicemail for the interviewer. A week after that, I messaged the interview coordinator to see if my emails were even getting through. She said she'd check with the interviewer and promised to email me. It's been two weeks since then and I still haven't heard back. It's weird that they'd say they're interested and want to move forward with a second interview but then not reply to a qualified and enthusiastic applicant.
- I thought it was strange to be asked about my salary expectations during the initial contact.
