I had a really good time interviewing for the Project Manager job. The person interviewing me was nice and professional, and they asked me a bunch of questions about my past work, what I'm good at, and my qualifications. I felt like I nailed all their questions, and I think I showed them I can handle projects well. I'm sure I have the right stuff to do well in this job, and I'm excited about the chance to join the company.

First met for an in person interview. All questions were off a script and consisted of basic questions. Then a 6 question math section and a 6 question written answer section. Very easy and for the math all you need to know how to to calculate percentages and find the percent of a dollar value. 2nd interview was with a member of HR to ask personality type questions to see if you fit the overall company culture. Make sure to seem energetic and like you want to have fun! Team players are smiled upon.

Behavioral Technical

You'll have 2 interviews, as they always give 2 looks at all agents. The first interview is with HR, and they decide if you'll interview with the director of sales. Nothing too hard, and both interviews were really focused on your job history and what you did daily in past positions. It seemed like they wanted to see how well you managed time, dealt with customer concerns, and what made you successful compared to your competitors. You'll also have a writing test to see how you'd reply to an interested traveler and a math test where you figure out the % of commissions you'll get (you can use a calculator). There's also a credit and background check.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I interviewed right before the pandemic got serious. I was bummed we couldn't start at VTG, and the interviewer felt the same. Later, as things were looking up, I called Vacations To Go. The receptionist was now head of HR and she remembered me, which felt great. We scheduled an interview. I met with her briefly, then a guy who gave the worst interview ever. A week later, I got a rejection. It was wild because the rejection wasn't even from HR, but someone else, and it just said I wasn't considered and not to ask why. I couldn't believe it with my advanced degree, solid job history, and great references. This was a huge letdown as I was excited to join VTG with my 35+ years in cruising and hoped to retire there. I emailed them wishing them well. The next week, I was offered a commodity sales job and took it. Since day one, I've outperformed every other agent by at least 20% daily, sometimes 50%. It makes me wonder what I could have achieved selling a product I love versus energy products. But I'm happy with my profitable current role, which I wouldn't have had at VTG.
