Technical Coding

The interview process involved an aptitude test covering Speed Distance Time, Profit and Loss, Geometry, and Average. This was followed by a Technical Interview (First Round) where I was asked about C++ vs Java, Java's platform independence, Garbage Collection in Java and its advantages over C/C++, Thread Implementation, Daemon threads, the difference between threads and processes, Abstract classes vs Interfaces with scenarios, and error correction/output prediction for programs involving Strings, Threading, Exception Handling, and dynamic method dispatch. The second round of the Technical Interview involved storing a tree structure in a table, implementing garbage collection in C++, and writing a queue program.

Presentation

A recruiter hit me up on LinkedIn about an interior design job. I was keen and sent over my resume and portfolio. Soon after, I got a video call. The designer chatted about the company and then asked me to walk them through a project I'd done. They oddly suggested moving me to an interior design role, even though that's what the job was advertised as. It was super quick (like 10 min) and felt a bit off, like they weren't being straight with me. Didn't even ask me to introduce myself or anything. Then, the recruiter let me know I didn't get approved. Honestly, the whole thing felt really messy, badly run, and not professional at all.

Behavioral

The interview process was long but went smoothly and felt comfortable. There were a few phone interviews, and after passing those, I had an in-person interview with people from different departments, even though I wouldn't be directly working with them, we would be collaborating. The phone interviews each lasted about 30-45 minutes. The in-person interviews were also 30-45 minutes long with each department, including sales, marketing, delivery, HR, and PMO.
