First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Utah State Hospital.
Recreational Therapist
The RTD reached out to me over email for the interview and then via text for further instructions, etc. The interview consisted of a panel including: Recreation Therapy Director, Administration Directors, and other Recreation Therapists on the Team.
- What education, certifications, licenses, and experience qualify you for this role?
- What RT groups have you led, and are you comfortable with groups such as (list of RT group types)?
- Would you be willing to get Ropes Course, Canoe/Kayak, and Lifeguard training and licensure if required for this position?
Psychiatric Technician
The interview was straightforward. I was handed a list of questions, which were read aloud to me as I provided my answers. Most of the questions were pretty basic, though one asked about an instance where I performed a kind act for another person.
- What makes you qualified for this position?
- Can you share an example of when you did something nice for someone?
Registered Nurse
I spoke with the director of nursing. We went over my previous experience and discussed a bunch of questions about my background in different types of roles and situations, and how I handled them. The interview was organized well. They got back to me in a couple days after the interview, and offered me the job.
- Tell me about your past experience leading a team.
