I went through a few interviews over three weeks, which meant taking time off my job. The interviews were good and gave me a clear idea of the team and what I'd be doing. After the last one, I got a spoken offer. They wanted me to start working remotely in two weeks, then move to the office within three weeks. Since I'm not from the area, this meant moving my whole life while also giving my two weeks' notice at my current job. I told them I was really excited about the job and asked if they could be a little flexible with the start date. I requested a few extra days for the move and to ease into the remote work. I also said I could be in the office sooner if needed. They said they had a lot of people involved and would get back to me the next day. I didn't hear back for several days, and then they just emailed to say the offer was off because of the start date. I get they need to hire quickly, but the moving and starting timeline was super tight, especially since they knew I had to move. Not hearing back when they said they would also made it feel less professional than the rest of the interviews. The team was great to talk to, but if you're moving, be ready for strict start dates and not much wiggle room.

The hiring manager was nice. They mostly asked about my past experience, but didn't really explain what the position would involve. It seemed like they lost interest quickly if you weren't already familiar with their marketing platforms or software.

So I had this interview for a junior web dev role. First, I chatted with the manager, and they threw a FizzBuzz challenge at me on CodePen. After that, I got a take-home project, which I completed. Then, I had another interview with the manager, and this time someone from HR joined too. I had to give a presentation about a project. That was pretty much it. They offered me the job, but I already had a better offer, so I passed. I tried to negotiate, but they said the budget for the role was too tight.

I had two really positive interviews with the hiring manager. The second interview was this big assignment that I worked really hard on and they loved it. They said they’d get back to me about a third interview, but then they just ghosted me. I reached out two weeks later and still nothing, not even a rejection. I was so bummed because I was really into this role, but the way it ended left a bad taste.
