It was a good learning experience for me and I was able to crack it with good preparation. I had to share some of my previous work which got noticed. Had close to 3 rounds, with the hiring manager, a panel, and the India head.

This hiring process was a complete mess and a total waste of my time. It felt disorganized and unprofessional from the start. I was pressured to schedule interviews quickly, but then they kept rescheduling, sometimes last minute or with no warning. One interview invite didn't even have attendees, and another was moved to the next morning without any explanation. A Zoom link for one interview only arrived late the night before after I chased it. I rearranged my whole week multiple times because I thought this was a serious opportunity, but it turned out not to be. After everything, I got a generic rejection email that mentioned 'your application to Ushur,' which was odd since they reached out to me, and they didn't even bother to change 'application' to 'time.' It seemed like they rushed me through these conversations just to fill their pipeline or help someone meet internal targets. It felt like they were just trying to hit activity goals, pressuring me to talk fast, treating it like an emergency, and then ghosting me. It's also noticeable how homogenous their hiring pipeline is. I was the only one in the process who didn't fit the main demographic. When I asked questions or took up space, I was treated like a problem, which didn't feel like a coincidence. If this is how they handle external candidates, I can only imagine the internal culture. Honestly, I spent so much time confirming, rescheduling, and chasing links that I felt like I was already an employee. The high turnover there is probably not surprising.

The job was initially advertised as full-time with great benefits. The first interview focused on these aspects and seemed promising. The job description was accurate, but by the second interview, the role had changed significantly, and the benefits were gone, making for a really awkward conversation. There were four interview rounds in total, and with each one, the details kept shifting, which was quite frustrating. Ultimately, after getting close to the end, they decided to pursue a different candidate, and the position was no longer available. While the recruiter and other staff were pleasant, they seemed disorganized regarding the job openings and their descriptions.

My interview process with Ushur started off really well. The lead recruiter was responsive and gave good feedback, but then it all fell apart. I was working on a project for the next round when they canceled it. After that, communication got really vague and the whole process felt chaotic. The worst part was they just ghosted me after I spent time preparing for their assignment. It seems like this happens a lot based on other reviews. If they ask you to do a project, be careful because you might do a lot of work and then the process just falls apart with no real ending. A simple update or rejection would have been the minimum.
