The interview process was pretty standard. It began with an initial chat with HR, followed by a meeting with the hiring manager, and then several more interviews with different people. It was good to connect with a current employee, and the managers seemed pleasant. However, there was a considerable delay, spanning weeks, before I received a response after the final interview, which was a generic, copy-pasted message.

I applied online and heard back a week later. They called me by the wrong name and I had to chase them to get a webcam interview. The interview was standard, with questions about the job description. I was then asked for portfolio samples, which I sent. After that, I was ghosted with no rejection. It seems common for them to just disappear on candidates, which isn't professional, especially when research analysts are usually interviewing with multiple companies.

I applied online in Feb, 2019 and had a screener call a few days later. I interviewed at the URI office in early March, 2019. The interview was well-structured with relevant questions. They said I'd hear back within a week, but that didn't happen. After waiting 10 days, I messaged the hiring manager and got a reply 8 days later saying they were still interviewing candidates and would decide by the end of next month. It's been over 80 days since my onsite interview and still no reply. I get that hiring managers are busy, but candidates put in time and effort too and deserve to know the outcome. The whole hiring process felt very unprofessional and a waste of my time. I wouldn't recommend applying to URI.

URI does a thorough interview process. Candidates typically go through 2-3 rounds of interviews. For researcher roles, there's a final panel interview where they present their portfolio.
