The interview for the Gift Operations Coordinator role was pretty good. I talked to someone nice and smart who seemed really interested in what I've done. We talked a lot about my skills with CRM systems, like how I handle donor info, make things run smoother, and keep data correct for fundraising. I also explained how I build relationships with donors and use data to plan. It felt like a team-up, and I got to show I know my stuff and care about the cause. I felt good about how my background fit what they needed and enjoyed the chat.

I had a video interview with HR, possibly preceded by a phone call. They mentioned a multi-stage interview process. It would involve two more video interviews, a written assessment, and a new in-person "stress test" with someone I'd met before. After two weeks of silence, I got an interview with the hiring manager, my potential supervisor. The interview, which ran long due to many questions, went well. It's now been two months since then, and I haven't heard back, so I believe I've been ghosted.

Before the interview, you'll need to complete an initial test to weed out candidates. This test covers financial control concepts like defining fraud, identifying risks, and the bank reconciliation process. You'll also need to look at some financial reporting data from partners to see if budgets were exceeded or if targets were met. After that, it's a competency-based interview with about 5 questions. They'll ask why you applied, about your weaknesses and strengths, and ask you to share specific examples from your past experience about how you handled difficult tasks or persuaded management.

I went through three interviews for this job, which took about 3.5 hours total, and there was also a lot of back and forth via email. The whole thing wrapped up in 2 months. They did talk to all my references, and they all responded pretty thoroughly. In the end, I didn't get the offer, and they just sent a generic email saying they were going with someone else. I asked for feedback, but they never got back to me. It felt pretty unprofessional, especially after all the time I invested. Just a heads-up, they might keep you hanging, so maybe consider other offers first.
