This interview process is super long, like 3-6 months, and they really get into your background 'cause of the security clearance. It has about 9 parts, starting with a physical test and going all the way to a polygraph and drug screening. Seriously, make sure your life is totally in order for the last 15 years before you start this, it's a marathon!

The interview process for the United States Secret Service is super tough and has many parts, which makes sense because the job is so important and sensitive. You'll go through several stages, and each one is meant to check if you have the right qualifications, skills, and if you'd be a good fit for what they need.

Honestly, this whole experience testing with the Secret Service Uniformed Division was appalling, especially for a working professional. First impressions matter, right? From the applicant and the agency. When I got to the testing place, the grooming standards seemed really loose. A Sergeant, who said he was in charge of recruiting, greeted us. He gave this talk like an orientation where we could ask about the career path. The problem was, this guy was swearing like a sailor every other word. It's a professional interview setting, for crying out loud. No place for that language. I get that people out in the world might not always be polite, but you gotta try to be professional. On top of the bad language, the sergeant made it sound like a frat boy's dream job, talking about fast cars and looking good in the uniform. Questions about growing in the role and company policies were basically skipped. I'm looking for integrity, professionalism, respect, and responsibility – none of that seemed apparent during my time with the uniformed secret service.

I applied when they announced recruitment at a hotel, with over 650 people, mostly under 27. We had a 10-minute chat with an interviewer to give them our resume. Later, I got a packet and a date for an interview at HQ. I met with an agent in charge, did some psych tests, and answered weird questions from a psychologist about my childhood. They picked 25 of us for an orientation where they talked about the job and fitness. The guy talking about fitness was really overweight, and when I asked about it, he said we just need to be fit to join, then we can gain weight. After that, there were more interviews, ending with one about assets and financials. We had to give all our credit card debt, credit info, assets, etc., with explanations. I have significant assets and a 830 credit score from owning properties worth 1.2 Mil, so I was disqualified for not having "undivided attention" for the job. I made it to the top 5 out of 10 selected applicants.
