I applied online and then had to go take a USPS exam at a local university to check my math skills for mail delivery. After that, I got notified for an onsite interview. This interview had another short computer exam, then an in-person chat about how USPS jobs work, like paying for uniforms and how vacation time is assigned based on hiring date.

The interview process is pretty standard with generic questions that everyone gets asked. Honestly, the interview itself isn't that important. They mainly hire based on your test score and it's a first-come, first-served basis. It's not really a typical job interview. It's a good idea to get to the interviews early because there will be a lot of other people interviewing too.

I had two interviews and one background check for the mail carrier position. The first interview went great, but I didn't hear back. The second interview also went well, and I completed the background check. Unfortunately, they never followed up with me again. When I contacted them, they said it was an oversight and suggested I reapply in a few months. Even though I got and accepted an offer, I never actually started working for USPS.
