Applied and heard back in about 2 weeks. The application asked for resume, transcript, and references. Got a call for a phone interview with 3 interviewers. Didn't get an offer. They asked about my experience, how I'd gain from the program, and how I'd help the USPS. They also presented scenarios and asked how I'd deal with them.

I applied in February and did some online assessments, then had a phone interview. It took about two months to get the call that I got the internship at Headquarters. This process is longer than usual because it's with the government and they do thorough background checks. But if you can do this internship, you should! It can be expensive if you aren't from the DC area or don't have a place to stay. If you're a woman, Thompson Hall is affordable and includes meals. Otherwise, GWU is an option. I stayed at GWU Shenkman Hall apartments, which are super close to the Metro, Georgetown, the Lincoln Memorial, and have a Whole Foods and Trader Joes nearby. Foggy Bottom has lots to do too! At USPS, you learn a lot and meet great interns. The atmosphere at Headquarters can vary by department, but I really liked the people I worked with. The coordinator is also fantastic and attentive, and they really mentor you! Definitely don't miss this chance!!
