So the hiring process was kinda long, but I think there was only one phone interview and then an in-person interview with the head of that department. Since it was an intern position, the interview wasn't too difficult. They were mainly looking for a good attitude, that I was eager to learn, and could work both independently and with others. They also wanted to make sure I had a basic grasp of relevant technical skills and concepts.

I had one phone interview with my potential mentor. We talked about my past work and they asked me some technical questions about it, but it wasn't too difficult. They also asked me about my coursework, what software I've used, and what I want to do in the future career-wise. They offered me a job right on the call.
