First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at US Farm Service Agency.
Country Program Analyst
It was a panel interview with three interviewers. They each asked their own questions. The whole thing took about an hour. The dress code was "farm professional," so I wore western shirts and jeans.
- Could you perform a hypothetical mathematical calculation regarding agricultural inputs and farm productivity?
Loan Officer
the interview process was good, I sat with the team, which normally consists of 3-4 people, and they each asked 4-5 questions. It was a pretty formal discussion and a little challenging, but I definitely learned from the interview.
- How would you maintain organization in this role?
County Executive Director
I had a panel interview with current state board members, who were about 6-7 folks from around the state. It was a fairly common interview with typical questions over the course of an hour, and then we had some pleasant conversation after the formal questioning.
- Can you share an instance where you had to correct a mistake you made and describe your approach to resolving it?
Program Technician
Hiring manager contacted me just a few days after I applied. After that, a video interview was set up and carried out. The entire process was super easy, not complicated at all, and very direct. Honestly, it was one of the fastest application timelines I've ever gone through. The interview itself went by in a flash. It felt really rushed, and I had to jump on answering questions super fast; they literally read questions from a piece of paper and then quickly ended the call.
- Can you describe how you handle interactions with individuals who have personalities different from your own?
