It was a super long and detailed interview process. They require a public policy clearance, which the DOJ handles and pays for, doing all the background research and interviews before you're officially hired. Everyone I talked to was really nice and helpful. But seriously, the whole thing from interview to getting the job offer can take months, even if your background is spotless. Lots of bureaucracy and waiting around. You have to get through multiple interviewers. I spoke with 4 different people before they offered me the job.

There were 2 interviews total. The first one was a round table with LSMs. The questions weren't too hard, mostly just be confident and friendly. If you get picked, you'll have a second interview with the chief and support staff supervisor. They'll ask you more skill-based questions. It can be a little intimidating, but they're just people, so smile and brag on yourself.

Interviews usually involve a few attorneys on a call or video chat. They'll ask you to introduce yourself, then ask a couple of questions about how you approach writing and research, and then a few other questions about your background. The attorneys have been pretty nice and helpful in all the interviews.
