First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at US Department of Energy.
Analyst
The process is pretty long. You'll need to apply for jobs in the US. After the posting closes, you might get an email for an interview if your qualifications put you in a high rank among applicants. It's been really competitive so far. I'm not sure what happens after the initial steps.
- Could you explain why your technical skills are a good fit for this role?
Program Analyst
The team seemed great. However, they never got back to me after 2 interviews totaling over 3 hours. They also asked repeatedly if I would relocate for a position they advertised as fully remote. While the people and work seemed great, my overall impression was unprofessional and disorganized.
- How would you fit into organizational structure?
Program Analyst
I was interviewed by a committee from the office I would be working in. Everyone got a chance to ask questions and interact with me. The office administrator ran the interview and made sure everyone had time for questions. It lasted about 45 minutes and was friendly. They got back to me with an offer pretty quickly via phone and mail.
- What's your best approach to evaluating program "X"?
