Started with a writing test, where I had to analyze and argue about a current event or geopolitical issue. After that, there was a panel interview with about 4 or 5 interviewers who asked me a bunch of questions about why I want to work there, what about the opportunity interests me, and how my background fits.

I applied for an operations position with the DIA and was invited to DC for a job fair interview. Once there, I waited for hours before being interviewed by a CENTCOM Analyst, which surprised me as I had no analyst experience and no interest in that field. The interviewer admitted he requested me because we were from the same hometown. We spoke for an hour, and he expressed surprise at my understanding of Afghanistan's situation given my lack of analyst experience. I spent $600 of my own money on this interview, for which I was never reimbursed. I was also not given a chance to interview for the positions I was actually qualified for and interested in. While the interviewer was pleasant, the unprofessional and personal reason for the interview felt like a waste of my time and money, and may have harmed my chances for the jobs I applied for.

It was a phone call interview, about half an hour long. Instead of direct questions and answers, it was more about how you'd handle situations. They asked five questions, each focusing on something different like teamwork, leadership, or how you deal with people in charge.
