Immigration Assistant
Applied, got interviewed. Still waiting for the result of my interview from last year. Been reaching out with no luck. Still in the hiring process. The process is too long.
- Were there 5 basic questions asked about immigration?
- Did they ask about your experience with immigration procedures?
- Were you asked about handling client inquiries related to immigration?
Immigration Assistant
The posting closed on 11/7 and about a month later, I got an email for a phone interview. It was a panel interview with three people, and they asked situational questions. They scheduled 30 minutes, but it only took 15. Four days later, I got an email to submit 3 professional references. The next day, I got another email saying I'd have a second interview with the field office director. I had a phone interview with the director, and he asked 5 questions. It seemed to go well. He asked questions like 'if you were applying for a company that was just starting up and there was no information on the internet about them what three questions would you ask and why?'. The interview was about 25 minutes long. A week after my interview with the director, I got my tentative hire email.
- Can you share an instance where you had to handle a stressful or challenging work situation? Describe your actions and the result.
- What motivates your interest in working for USCIS?
- Describe a situation where you demonstrated teamwork and what your contribution was.
Immigration Specialist
I went through six rounds of interviews. Some parts were hard to hear because it was virtual. I felt like the questions were kind of random and I didn't really get what most of them were about. I haven't heard back yet, and the job posting still says they're reviewing applications.
