First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at US Biotek.
Chemist
I applied online and got a phone screening interview three days later. The interview process felt unprofessional. The interviewer was 10 minutes late and interrupted my answers, asking for short responses because she was in a hurry. She also insisted I provide a salary range, giving a long explanation why, which felt like a waste of my time.
- What was the salary in your previous related job?

Lab Aide
So I applied online for US Biotek and got a call within a week or two from the lab manager. First, we had a quick phone call where they asked about my past experience and the job details. If I was still interested, they set up an in-person interview for the next day. This phone call was super basic, just confirming my resume info. Then, I had my first face-to-face with the lab manager. I had to fill out an application form that's pretty much my resume again, plus questions about how my experience fits the role and my strengths/weaknesses. After that, I had to write a couple of paragraphs on why I'm a good fit. That took about an hour. Then the manager asked standard questions like naming 10 strengths and weaknesses, how I work with others, my ideal work environment, and a saying that reflects my beliefs. After that, I had a second, shorter interview (about 45 mins) with another manager to check my personality and see if I'd fit the team. This one was more laid-back, asking about being an introvert/extrovert and handling stress. If they liked me, I had to take a skills test with word problems, pattern solving, basic math, and a typing test. It wasn't about getting everything right, but showing effort and basic logic skills. They said they'd call if I was a good fit. I got a job offer soon after via phone, and accepted via email. It was a pretty standard process, needed some prep. They asked me to bring my college diploma, unofficial transcripts, and a lab notebook. Bringing extra resume and reference copies is always a good idea too. Not everything was checked, but it shows you're prepared.
- Can you list 10 weaknesses related to your skills?
- Describe a past situation where you experienced high stress at work and explain how you managed it.
Processing Technician
It was a very easy interview, they gave me a tour of the building. It seems like they really need someone to be there all the time. During the tour, I noticed the place was cold and the people seemed distant. The hiring manager appeared to be in a hurry to hire new people.
- What are your career aspirations for the next couple of years?
