Flight Instructor
So I applied and then got a call to set up a virtual interview. When the time came, I chatted with someone from the company about why I wanted the job and went over basic maneuvers.
- How would you teach someone to do steep turns?
CFI
Before the interview, I was given a topic to prepare a lesson plan and then teach it during the interview. I had to teach about VOR and GPS to demonstrate my teaching skills and my ability to answer questions related to the subject. A dry erase board was available for my use during the teaching session.
- Can you explain the working principle of a VOR?
Certified Flight Instructor
The interview process started with a recruiter call where I was asked about myself and my willingness to work at different locations. Then we discussed the position and the company, followed by a technical teaching segment. They said they would send me a lesson to prepare about a day before the interview, but I never received the email. I reached out to them about the lesson and heard back 30 minutes before the interview, which they then postponed by an hour. About 4 hours after the interview, I was contacted with an offer. I was then sent the wrong paperwork with another person's name on all documents.
- Could you teach me how to perform short field landings as if I were a new student?
CFI
Had a technical interview with standards instructors. They had me teach on stalls and discuss various situations that affect performance. They also told me about the company, where they came from and where they are going.
- Can you explain what an accelerated stall is?
