First, you'll take a skills test. They'll look at your scores to decide if they want to hire you. Then, the real fun begins with lots of red tape, including medical and background checks. After that, you get the contract to sign to service. This ain't for kids or people who act like them!

The "interview" actually takes place at the recruiting station. It's pretty informal and not too tough. My advice is to figure out which jobs you're interested in before you show up. Once the recruiter gets you sorted, you'll head over to MEPS for a medical screening and a drug test. You don't need to be in peak physical condition, but you should be able to handle some basic exercises before enlisting. Focus on improving your 2-mile run time, push-ups (aim for 2 minutes), and sit-ups (aim for 2 minutes). You can find the specific standards for your age and gender online.
