First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Urban Upbound.
Housing Counselor
I had a 45-minute first round interview where the interviewer was very friendly and mainly asked about my direct service experience. I didn't hear back, but I also didn't follow up for an update.
- Do you have any experience in financial advising?
Employment Coordinator
First, there was a phone screening. Then, I had an interview with the Assistant Manager and two senior staff members. After that, I interviewed with the Program Director. The final interview was with the President of the organization.
- What experience do you have with Job Development?
- Do you have a current job bank?
Tax Preparer
I got my certification and then interviewed via email. After that, I met the employer in person at their Long Island City office. I then underwent several training sessions focused on tax claims before I started preparing tax returns on my own.
- Can you show us your VITA/TCE advanced certification?
Director
So, the first thing was this FaceTime interview. I was supposed to have an in-person one after that but it got canceled because someone had a conflict. They said they'd reschedule but never did. I wasn't sure it was a good fit anyway, so I didn't bother following up. The interview itself was pretty standard, you know, the questions and how it all went down. I spoke with two staff members during that first interview.
- Can you tell me about your current projects?
