Urban FT Interview Questions
& Process

It was a good conversation. The first round was with HR, and then the technical team conducted more rounds. The entire process was done online and was quite fast. The interviewers were friendly. The questions were mainly about my experiences.

It started with a 30-minute phone screener where the interviewer was really nice and gave me a good vibe about the company. After that, I had a few days to do a UX Research Task. Then, I had an in-person interview with a UX Researcher and a Senior UX Designer. They asked standard UX questions, mainly checking how I deal with tough situations, my UX process, and if I'd be a good fit personality-wise. The interviewers were super honest and detailed about the company culture, how things work, and the challenges. After that, there was a second in-person interview with more senior team members. It was a lot like the first one, with similar questions. I also presented my Research Task and answered questions about it. Talking with the senior folks gave me a much clearer picture of Urban FT's history and future. Honestly, it was one of the best interview experiences I've had. The team was so friendly and open, and everything they said about working there turned out to be true, even a month in.

The hiring process was pretty good overall. HR was very responsive, and the first interview with the Product Manager went smoothly. Sadly, I was rejected after the second interview with the CTO. It's a bit strange because the job description said I'd report to the VP of Design, but I didn't get to speak with her before being rejected. For designers, input from the Design lead is really important. I hope UrbanFT's leadership will think about this for future hiring.

The interview process with Urban FT was pretty straightforward. First, I had a conference call with the marketing team. Then, they gave me a design challenge to complete. The last part of the process was an onsite interview at their office.
