I found the job on Indeed and applied via the L'Oreal website. After an online assessment, I received a callback a week later to schedule an interview/audition for the following week. Upon arrival, I met a very friendly person at the counter. They gave me an overview of the products and then I had to engage in 'traffic stopping' and try to sell products. Since it was quiet, I approached customers and managed to make sales. The approach is to ask customers if they'd like to try an express makeup service, like brows, complexion, or a smokey eye. It's important to note that you do have to perform makeup applications, even though it's a Beauty Advisor role. This part lasted about 45 minutes. Afterward, I had a 1-on-1 interview with brief questions, which weren't too difficult. A passion for makeup and the company is key. I was told I'd hear back in 2-3 days, but I didn't, so I followed up and got a call the next day to arrange a store approval interview. I received the offer, and the job is mine!

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I was just walking through Macy's and the counter manager flagged me down and asked for my resume after talking for a minute. We set up an interview for 3 days later that was about 30 minutes long. Then came the audition part where I had to grab a customer from the floor and do their makeup. I got a customer in under 10 minutes and did her eye makeup. She bought $80 in makeup, which made the counter manager happy. He then got his senior managers, who met me and one of them interviewed me right then. A few days later, I had a phone interview with the other senior manager. That same day, I got called back to submit my info for the background check, which is the last step. They also do a urine drug test through another company.

Applied online, then waited about 2 months for a call back. Got invited for an in-store audition that lasted around 2 hours. The audition involved actively engaging shoppers in the store to encourage them to visit the counter for product demonstrations and potential sales, though sales weren't the main focus. After that, I had a second interview with the Counter Manager and Assistant Area Manager. This was a relaxed conversation covering my experience, availability, and some easy scenario questions. Following that, I had a third interview with the Area Manager, which was similar to the second. I presented my portfolio and discussed my knowledge of the brand and its products, as well as my motivation for wanting to join the company. I received a job offer via phone call just under two weeks later.

I sent in my CV and then got a call to come in for an audition in two days. The audition involved a product rundown, questions about which products I used and knew about the brand, and a 45-minute traffic stopping session where I sold a product that wasn't essential. Afterward, I was told I'd have a telephone interview a week later. The phone interview was tough because the interviewer spoke softly and the volume was low.
