I was contacted on LinkedIn for an initial interview for a client in the finance industry. The job description was clear and the salary was already listed, which was a plus. However, after the interview, I didn't get any feedback, even after asking for it.

It was awful. I had a good chat with the recruiter and they said I'd be talking to the VP of Product next and that I should look out for an email from the coordination team. I never got the invite, so I followed up. The recruiter then said the role had been filled. THEN I got an email from the coordinator scheduling the interview. It was very confusing because the role was still filled. The recruiter then had the nerve to ask if I'd be interested in a role a level down, which I'm way overqualified for.

My experience interviewing with Upstart for a Product Design role was really great. I talked to people from Engineering, Design, and Product, and even one of the co-founders. They gave me a design challenge, but it was for a feature that was already live, so it wasn't like they were asking me to do actual work. The team was really nice, open, and told me how I could follow up with questions. My recruiter was also super helpful and supportive through the whole thing, making sure I was ready and had all the info I needed. They gave me plenty of time to think about the job and joining Upstart. Honestly, it was one of the best interview experiences I've had.
