The interview process at UpSlide started off great, the London team seemed professional and supportive. After I spent a lot of time preparing a presentation, the final interview with the CEO was a letdown. He seemed unprepared and uninterested in my work, giving feedback that was the opposite of what the earlier stages suggested. It's disappointing when a decision might be influenced by things other than merit, especially after the London team made such a good impression.

First interview was a video call with my potential manager. They asked general questions and questions about the company. Second interview was in person with the General Director and HR. They asked general questions about me, presented a practical case study, and assessed team fit.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I had a first round with someone from Talent in Paris. It was a pretty standard 30-45 minute chat about my background and why I was interested in Customer Success. Then, I was invited back for a second round which involved a take-home task where I had to look at some client metrics and figure out a strategy. We had to reschedule that one because I had a client meeting. After all that, a few days before the rescheduled interview, they let me know they'd hired someone else.

Behavioral Technical Presentation Case

It was a long process. Started with a 20-min call with the internal recruiter about my background and what drives me. Then, I had a take-home task to create a cold email and find 3 prospects within 48 hours. After that, I interviewed with the BDA manager, which was pretty chill and he was great. We mostly talked about why I wanted the role, my past experiences, and my knowledge of the product and company. During this interview, there was a live task where I had to reply to an objection in my cold email within a 10-minute time limit. Next, I had an in-person interview with the UK and Germany director. This was much more formal and included a cold call role-play where I got feedback and had to adjust. They asked questions that required more knowledge of the financial industry than I expected, like details about financial decks from 'Delores' during the cold call. I received feedback that I should have researched the product/company more thoroughly. I got similar feedback from the BDA manager, so I made sure to be well-prepared for the in-person interview, feeling confident about Upslide's business, client successes, and solutions. Honestly, I knew more about this product than others I was interviewing for, and they seemed really particular about product knowledge. They might have been looking for knowledge beyond the website or better recall from me, which is a bummer because I don't think my recall was an accurate reflection. It wasn't the right fit for me in the end, but the team seemed really nice. I'd advise anyone interviewing to really know the product, company, and industry inside and out.
