I found the role on LinkedIn and applied online. After that, I had a recruiter call. Unfortunately, I didn't move forward to any further rounds like the hiring manager or panel interviews. The recruiter call was quite relaxed, and they asked if I was familiar with the company and its app, and how my background aligned with the company and the specific position.

I put in my application online and then heard back via email to schedule a Zoom call with the recruiter for the first screening. I set up the call and joined the video meeting, though my camera was off during the interview. At the end, he mentioned he'd pass my resume to the hiring manager and get back to me within two days.

My recruiter contacted me on LinkedIn about a role I was supposedly perfect for. The recruiter didn't seem to know much about the product and made it sound unexciting, making it hard to know what to focus on. There were 4 roles open, and I knew more about them than the recruiter, who admitted to knowing nothing about the roles. It was a short, awkward conversation where I couldn't connect with the company, product, or role. No situational questions were asked to gauge my experience, and I felt the recruiter wasn't engaged.
