First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at UPshow.
BDR Representative
Had one phone call with HR. Then one call with management. Then one in-person meeting with management. HR was kind of rude and took forever to get back to me after the final round. I had to reach out many times.
- Roleplay with management
HR Director
I got contacted by the recruiter real fast and we set up a quick screening call. It was a nice chat and they asked if I wanted to come in the next business day. I went in a few days later and was pretty unimpressed with how the interview was set up. I talked to 3 different people, and only one of them seemed ready for it (the recruiter/HR person). The other two honestly told me they hadn't even looked at my resume. They didn't really have a clear plan for what they wanted to ask me, and the founder even said some weird stuff that made me question if I'd even want to work there if I got an offer (1. he asked me if I had kids - which I told him is illegal 2. made negative comments about the mostly millennial workforce). Also, the office was super cramped and messy. I honestly didn't think I'd want to work there, but it's been two weeks of silence from them. It's really unprofessional to not even follow up with a qualified candidate after a two-hour onsite interview, especially when it was with an HR person.
- Can you share your experience in contributing to the development of company culture?
Customer Success Manager
I applied online and got a quick interview request from HR. I sent my availability and booked a 30-minute phone call for the next week. The HR person called on time, was friendly, asked typical interview questions, and then I asked my questions. The whole thing took about 20 minutes. Then, two days later, I got a standard rejection email.
- Tell me about your background and how it relates to this job.
- What makes you want to work here at UpShow?
- What is your proudest professional accomplishment?
Marketing
I had a really thorough interview process, but it wasn't too stressful. I talked to most of the people I would be working with directly, and also most of the leadership. It was a very holistic process to gauge my skillset and also my fit with the company culture, which they really value. Later on, I was asked to bring in some examples/strategies based on prompts. Overall, it was a pleasant interview experience where I got to know the company really well.
- Could you share some ideas for a specific campaign or to solve a particular problem for us?
