First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at UPS.
Software Engineer Intern
It was remote, and I spoke with a manager and two developers from the team. They asked me about my experience and coursework, then some questions about OOP principles and basic DSA concepts. No live coding, just the fundamentals. They also asked how I've used specific frameworks and languages in my projects.
- Could you outline and explain the fundamental principles of object-oriented programming?
- What are the core tenets of object-oriented programming, and can you elaborate on each?
- Explain the primary pillars of object-oriented programming and provide details for each.
Senior Software Engineer
It was a 3 round technical interview process. 2 rounds were offshore, and 1 was a client interview. I had a bad experience because the interviewer was triggered and disrespected me.
- Can you explain SOLID principles?
- How do you handle asynchronous programming?
- What are your thoughts on DevOps practices?
Software Engineer
You'll get coding challenges and system design questions to see how well you can solve hard problems, so brush up on algorithms, data structures, and scalability. They also care a lot about teamwork, communication, and adaptability, so be ready to share examples from your past. Make sure you've researched UPS, especially their tech stack, and how they use tech for logistics and supply chain. No matter what, explain your thinking clearly and briefly.
- Could you share some of the significant technical hurdles the team is presently dealing with?
