don't be late! They really care about attendance and punctuality more than if you're qualified. The front desk person notes who arrives first, so get there first to have the first interview. There was a small group discussion thing, then a one-on-one interview with two people. I made a personal resume on light blue paper and they liked it, but Ashley didn't like the cost of it. Make sure you can explain any gaps in your work history. I said my 3 week gap was spent job searching, but they took it as I wasn't qualified for those jobs.

I applied on the UPS jobs website. The online application was quick and didn't ask for much detail. About a week later, I got a call to set up an interview for a few days after that. The interview took about an hour. I had to go over my work history again, answer some questions about how I've dealt with or would deal with different situations, and give permission for a background check. Then, with two other people who applied, we toured the building and got a general idea of how things work. A couple days later, I got a call offering me the job. They mentioned it might be a month or two before I'd hear back, but the job was mine if I was still interested then. They did call me back about six weeks later to set up orientation. I think the orientation lasted around five hours. It covered safe work methods, basic info about the union, pay details, what's expected on the job, and I signed all the usual hiring paperwork. No drug test was required.

First, you gotta apply on upsjobs.com. After that, they'll probably hit you up within a couple of weeks, maybe sooner, about an orientation they're having. They'll tell you when and where it is. This orientation is like the first real step. They'll show you the place, and the HR person will go deep into what the job is all about and answer whatever questions you got. Later on, the HR person might pull you aside, ask you some questions to see if you'd be a good fit for UPS, and if they think you are, they'll stay in touch.
