First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Uplight.
Technical Solutions Engineer
I had three rounds of interviews. First interview was with HR for a fit check. Second interview was a knowledgeable discussion with the manager I'd report to. Third, was with the team I'd be working with, including different level engineers and another manager. They introduced themselves and took turns asking questions for a full hour. They didn't ask about my background experience at the beginning. I was told I'd get a call by the end of the week but never did. They completely ghost people which is very unprofessional.
- What software would you suggest improving and what is your reasoning?
UI & UX Designer
So I interviewed with Uplight twice. The first go-around had about 5 rounds, and I was getting good feedback. But in the end, no offer. What really stung was the recruiter called AGAIN, even though they'd already told me I didn't get the job! They repeated the same story about picking someone else. Super disappointing since I thought maybe things changed. Fast forward a few months, and I interviewed again. This time it was 3 rounds, and a different recruiter said I'd hear about an offer in 2 weeks. 3 months passed with barely any updates, even after I kept chasing them. I did one more interview after those 3 months, then radio silence. No feedback, no rejection, nothing. Took another month of me bugging the recruiter to finally find out I didn't get it (which I figured). They blamed the internal process, not their communication. The whole thing took about 4 months. Shame, because Uplight seems cool once you're in, but the interview process was such a mess, I'd never apply again.
- Can you tell me about yourself and if you're a culture fit?
Customer Success Manager
It started with a recruiter phone screen, then there was an assessment with a quantitative skills part and a personality part. After that, I had a call with the hiring manager, followed by four one-on-one Zoom video interviews with different CSM team members, some of whom were more senior than others, and the hiring manager was also part of this round. Even though there were some small delays in getting updates between stages, I never felt completely lost or without information. Overall, the people I met were really nice, welcoming, and knew their stuff.

Financial Systems Manager
The hiring process starts with an initial call from an internal recruiter to discuss your background and motivations for joining Uplight. This is a standard screening. If the recruiter finds you a good fit, you'll be given a 30-minute assessment. This assessment has two parts: the first half is a timed section with basic math, word association, and pattern recognition tasks, and the second half is untimed, focusing on behavioral questions where you rank response likelihoods. Note that this role offers a salary between $95-100K plus a 15% bonus, with no equity.
