The company was really quick to respond and everyone I talked to communicated well. My interviews included phone screenings, a video call, a take-home assignment, and finally an in-person interview. I got to chat with people from the team I'd be working with and the manager for that department. They were all really professional and seemed genuinely interested in the process.

The hiring process started with two phone interviews, followed by a final on-site interview. After the on-site, references were requested. The process seemed to be going well until references were contacted and then there was silence for 21 days. Finally, an automated rejection email was received. This felt like a waste of time given the reference check stage, suggesting a lack of clear communication.

Technical Presentation

It included 3 interview rounds and an assessment that I had 24 hours to complete. The assessment was time consuming and unnecessary and could have been skipped entirely. After completing all rounds of the interview process, including a final interview at the company showroom I was ghosted and never heard back from the hiring manager even after sending multiple emails.

Behavioral Technical

I applied for this job looking for part-time work to make some extra cash while I focused on my app. The HR rep on the phone told me it was actually a full-time role, even though they had listed part-time positions, and asked if I was still interested given the low pay. I was hesitant, but they said they could adjust the pay based on the team's needs, so I agreed to move forward. I did a quick assessment, then had a chat with the hiring manager (HM) and product manager (PM). I mentioned my interest in part-time and their comment about pay adjustments again. It went well, and a few days later I was invited to the office to meet the team. I thought meeting the HM and PM was the last step, so this felt a little strange. I asked who I'd be meeting, but HR was vague, just saying the HM, PM, and 'the team,' without names or titles, which I usually like to know beforehand. Throughout this, I was also emailing HR about the pay situation, but they either ignored me or gave non-answers. Eventually, I directly asked for the titles of the people I'd be meeting and a clear explanation of the pay scale modifications. I didn't want to proceed without this clarity. They replied that I'd meet the HM and PM in person but wouldn't name anyone else, and they just repeated the listed pay scale. At that point, I decided to decline the interview and withdrew my application, finding the whole experience disorganized and unprofessional. It was puzzling why they kept me in the process after I'd stated my preference for part-time work and concerns about the pay. It also seemed odd to be asked for another in-office meeting with the HM and PM for an entry-level, low-paying role after an initial screening, assessment, and interview with them. They weren't upfront, and their responses to my questions were evasive or nonexistent. It felt like a waste of everyone's time.
