Manager
The recruiter reached out to me directly, and they had a good pitch. I first talked to an engineering director over the phone for about 50 minutes, covering a lot of technical and situational questions. A few days later, the recruiter invited me for an onsite where I met with four engineers and a manager. They asked questions suitable for the role, and the interviews went well, with everyone being punctual. I had to do some whiteboarding. While one engineer seemed to have an attitude, the team appeared competent. The environment itself was a bit stale and bland, but overall the experience was average. It's a shame the company isn't doing well now, as it was a good place during its operation.
- Can you explain memory mapping in C?
- Tell me about a time when... (situational)
- How would you approach this problem on the whiteboard?
Product Marketing Manager
The process started with polite HR and hiring managers explaining the role and necessary skills. After initial phone interviews, I was invited for an on-site with senior leaders. They covered flight expenses, but hotel/car rental reimbursement was problematic, leaving me to pay initially. The facilities were nice, though the location wasn't ideal. Interviewees were punctual and courteous. I was given a room to work in after my last interview since my flight was late. The interviews weren't rigidly structured, with standard questions. The biggest letdown was the lack of follow-up, even for a rejection, which significantly lowered my opinion of the company.
- Given your background, why are you interested in this role?
Sales Operations
Openwave usually has a few interview rounds: an HR phone screen, hiring manager phone screen, hiring manager 1:1, team member 1:1s, cross-functional peer 1:1s, and a superior 1:1 (which depends on the role's level). For me, the phone screenings were skipped since I knew the hiring manager from a prior job. The rest of the interviews were pretty laid-back. We went over my resume against the job duties and had a general Q&A. I wasn't asked any behavioral questions. Everyone I met was professional, nice, and seemed happy working there.
- No questions were asked.
Senior Account Manager
there was basically four phases interviews I had to do: - HR - another Account Manager - three Regional Directors - Sales for CALA, Professional Services and global Support; - CALA Area Vice President the process was smooth and I think they all asked about my experience, people I know on customers I will deal with and my future vision of the company.
- Tell me about your account management experience and the seniority of your contacts.
- Can you discuss your experience with the types of customers you would be interacting with?
- What are your thoughts on the company's future direction?
