Engagement Manager
The interview process kicked off with a standard phone screening, followed by a peer phone interview. Then came a lengthy 6-person panel interview that pretty much took up the whole day. I was initially told I'd hear back the same day. After two weeks of radio silence, I was informed that an offer would have been extended, but hiring was put on hold. They mentioned they'd reconnect once the freeze was lifted. A month passed, the freeze ended, and it turned out Unqork had restructured, with only the insurance sector remaining. I was then told an offer was imminent, within 24 hours, now that hiring was back on. But then, I was told there was one more interview, just a casual chat with someone from the insurance team. After that last chat, I was unfortunately ghosted. No follow-up, and definitely no offer as previously suggested. Quite the experience.
- Tell me about how you would manage a client situation when you foresee a deadline being missed.
- What do you consider to be your biggest strengths and weaknesses?
- Can you share your motivations for seeking this role and specifically for Unqork?
Engagement Manager
My recruiting experience with Tara at Unqork was top-notch, she was super responsive, answered all my many questions, and kept me in the loop during the 4-week process, even with no news. I also really enjoyed talking to the five people from the professional services team. The interviews felt well-prepared and not a waste of time. Even though they had a small re-org and the role changed a bit after I finished the main interviews (recruiter screen, initial interview, take-home, and four 30-min back-to-back interviews), I got to chat with a leader about the changes. This was great and made me want to join Unqork even more.
- Can you discuss basic project management concepts like SDLC and sizing?
- What motivates you to pursue a career at Unqork?
Engagement Manager
This company really likes to waste your time. The interview process is pretty wild for a place that isn't FAANG, with at least six steps: first a recruiter chat, then the hiring manager, followed by a case study with a presentation, and then a bunch of panel interviews or 1-on-1s. They seemed really focused on culture fit in what felt like a super hectic environment. I got through about half of it and then got ghosted. They didn't even reply when I tried to follow up. Oh well, lesson learned to check Glassdoor first.
- What would be your 90 day plan if you were hired?
