Campus Manager
It was easy! I only had one interview, but I know most people do two. Sometimes they make candidates create a deliverable or presentation for the second interview, but they didn't make me do that this time! They just asked me about myself and the connections I have on campus!

Campus Manager
It was a really simple interview process! They asked me some basic questions about myself, how I deal with rejection, and how I manage when I have a lot to do. I got the job offer right away over the phone.

Graphic Designer
I saw the posting online and emailed my resume. It took them about 2-3 weeks to get back to me and schedule an interview. The first interview was pretty chill; I showed my portfolio and talked a bit about my background, but mostly they just chatted about the company and the role. I met with three people: the first seemed like HR, who was super positive about my Fashion Design degree from Kent State and thought I'd be a perfect fit. The other two were the manager and assistant manager, who were nice but a bit more reserved. Two days later, they emailed to set up an art test for the next day. In the office, using my laptop, I had to do some sample design tasks they gave me. They were checking my design skills and how fast I could work; the manager mentioned the typical time was 3 hours, and I took about 3.5. I was feeling good about it, but after not hearing anything by the next Thursday, I got worried. I emailed the manager to 'check in' before the weekend, but got no reply. Finally, the following Monday, I asked the HR person if they had any updates. They responded later that day saying I did really well, but they weren't hiring at the moment! It was a bummer, especially since I don't know why they put me through the process if they weren't hiring, and I wish they'd just been honest instead of making an excuse. It's a shame because it seemed like a great company.
- Could you tell us a little about your previous work experience?
- How comfortable are you with using Adobe Illustrator?
Executive Assistant
The interview process was thorough and untraditional, but required too much time from the applicant. While companies do ask candidates to return for additional interviews, this organization asked for a package of "deliverables" in addition to several interviews. The process was too lengthy, and when I was asked to return to "shadow" the owners and have lunch (which I had to bring!), it instead became a presentation of the package I prepared for them. I found it unprofessional that they completely changed the purpose of the visit that day. Several comments made by the interviewers were also less than appropriate.
- Can you describe your previous roles and how they align with our organization's needs?
