First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Student Worker
It was an easy interview and the process was fast. I talked with the office manager and some other students. They asked me STAR questions and I did my best to answer them. I'd suggest interviewing with them.
- Describe a situation where you resolved an issue.
Academic Advisor
It was a virtual, voice-only interview. It wasn't too tough. They gave the hardest question before the interview so you could prepare a good response, which was nice. They asked about a student scenario and how I would handle it.
- Why are you interested in this university and the location?
- Can you explain how your background fits this position?
- Tell me about a situation with a student and how you'd approach it.
Faculty Member
The process was about a half day long. I gave a presentation in front of a real class, then I interviewed with a panel of three faculty members. After that, I had a one-on-one with the Department Chair and another one-on-one with the Chair of the Search & Screen committee. They also set up a meeting for me to chat with a current staff member who teaches the same courses I would be teaching and has similar experience.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Graphics Marketing Coordinator
The first interview was a Webex meeting with some hiring committee members. Then, an in-person interview happened with several groups, like the hiring committee, my direct supervisor, student workers, and an open panel where UC employees could ask questions.
- Could you walk me through your creative process?
