The interview process included a description of my research experience and interests, along with some personality-based 'FIT' questions. The focus was more on my logical thinking and research potential rather than concrete research achievements. I received the outcome via email the next day.

About a month or two after I sent in my application, the department chair gave me a call and let me know the program wanted to interview me. They covered my flight and hotel. Everyone I met – the faculty, staff, and current grad students – was really nice and helpful. I got to pick about 4-5 professors I was hoping to meet with, and luckily, all but one (who was traveling) were available. It was a busy day with 6 meetings in total. Four of these were with the professors I'd requested, plus one with the department chair, and then a final meeting with someone from the selection committee. They let me know their decision within 6 weeks of the interview. It took a bit longer than expected because I was initially wait-listed.
