The interview process is pretty standard, but it might take longer than usual, possibly up to two months to get an offer, depending on the specific unit and their hiring schedule. There are three interview rounds: first, a phone screening or Zoom call with the hiring manager; second, an in-person interview with the team; and third, an interview with leadership.

The interview journey kicked off with a 30-minute chat with the hiring manager. Following that, there was a 2-hour technical interview. To wrap things up, a panel interview was conducted, which included the entire chain of command and a colleague. This entire process spanned about five weeks.

I applied for this Senior Application Development Analyst job back in mid-January. My first interview was scheduled for mid-February, and it went pretty well. I felt good about it and was hopeful. But then... nothing. I waited three weeks after the interview with no word, so I sent a follow-up email. Still no reply. I tried again, both by email and then on LinkedIn, to see what was up. Weeks went by, and it wasn't until April 16th - over two months later - that I got a generic rejection email. Look, I get that not everyone gets picked, but being completely ignored after an interview is really frustrating. Getting ghosted by a public institution like this is unprofessional and a waste of my time. I expected more from a university system that talks about integrity and accountability. I hope they figure out how to handle candidates better in the future. Just communicating in a timely way, especially after the interview, really matters for their reputation.
