After submitting my online application, I was contacted by HR for a phone call. During this call, they discussed the benefits and reviewed my application details. They didn't ask any specific questions. If they felt I was qualified, my application was then passed to the department, which happened in my case. The department then reached out to schedule an interview. I spoke with the director, who would have been my direct manager, and subsequently interviewed with the VP. Following these departmental interviews, they took approximately two weeks to make their final decision.

The hiring process took about a year because the university went on a hiring freeze right after my first interview. The interview wasn't that hard, mostly just talking about my experience. I first interviewed with HR and then moved on to the department hiring.
