The interview process was very straightforward and it was clear they were respectful of my time. The only downside was how cold and windy it was on the day of my on campus interview.

The whole process took three weeks. It started with a 45-minute phone interview, followed by a 3-hour in-person interview. I felt this was a waste of time for an assistant role and the questions were very repetitive, like they wanted to know what I did at my previous jobs.

I learned about this opening from a coworker because the person in the role was retiring. I called the hiring manager directly and we set up an in-person interview for the very next day. I spoke with two people for the interview, the hiring manager and their assistant, for about an hour. They asked me about what I thought of the department currently and what I would do differently if I got the job. A couple days later, I was told I'd meet two more people, and then I got a job offer that same day.

So I had this initial phone screening interview done by the manager of the center. After that, they asked me to come in for an in-person interview where I met with the manager and the supervisor of forensic interviewers. Then I had an in-person HR interview, and after that, a group interview with the three other forensic interviewers I'd be working with.
