I had a phone interview first, it was quick and about my background. Then an in-person interview where we talked more about library systems, academic support, and user services. I also had to give a short presentation. It was a professional process, they wanted to see my practical experience and how I communicate in a university library.

I had an in-person interview where I presented my work examples and answered questions. I also got a tour of the CIRT department. They gave me half an hour to edit an example video, which wasn't nearly enough time to showcase my skills. Even though I spent four hours on the in-person interview, HR or the department never followed up, leaving me ghosted. After six weeks, I contacted someone from the department listed on the application to see if I would hear back before the holidays. They told me, "Oh, you should have gotten an automated rejection once the selected applicant finished their start paperwork." It was unbelievably unprofessional and disrespectful to ignore candidates after an in-person interview. A simple "We have moved on with another candidate, thank you for your time" shouldn't be too much to ask. As of now, it's been 10 weeks since my interview and the automated rejection still hasn't processed.

Submitted my application through the online portal. Got an email with a Zoom link for the first interview, which was fully virtual. If I moved on, I'd get another Zoom link for a second interview. They were supposed to let me know if I got the job by a specific date after the second interview. However, communication was pretty bad, and I had to reach out days after the decision date. After some back-and-forth emails, I finally got a call saying I wasn't hired. This was over a week past the promised decision date, and they didn't follow up at all.

For faculty positions, if you make a good impression in the initial Skype interview with the Search Committee, you'll have a full day of interviews. You'll get to meet all the faculty who can attend and they'll ask you questions. The most formal part of the faculty interview is giving a lecture on a topic in your field for faculty to attend. If you know your material, it's not too stressful. They recruit nationally and will fly you to Jacksonville if you're a strong candidate.
