First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at University of North Dakota.
Software Business Analyst
Started with an HR Screening, then a video interview with the team panel. The final part was a conversation with the reporting supervisor about the offer, role, and responsibilities. It was a pretty smooth and direct process overall.
- Tell me about yourself.
Certified Flight Instructor
The interview process involved a 1-hour written test covering FOI (Federal Aviation Regulations) questions, followed by a 15-minute simulator session where I had to conduct an ILS LPV approach and a VFR pattern lesson. Finally, there was a 15-minute interview where I was asked to introduce myself, answer some HR-related questions, discuss handling a tough student, and provide a post-briefing after watching a video.
- How would you handle a student who consistently comes to lessons unprepared?
International Student Advisor
I applied via email on 8/9/2012. The interview involved five people from different departments, each asking at least three questions. I didn't get the job, and they recently re-posted it because someone left. It was heavy on personality questions. I think I was overqualified based on the committee members' online profiles. They never notified me if I got the job or not, which was really unprofessional.
- Why do you want to live in North Dakota?
Academic Advisor
I had one Zoom interview before they decided who to hire. I've interviewed for this position twice and the questions really depend on which college you'd be advising for (arts and sciences, business, aerospace, education, etc)
- How would you manage numerous competing tasks like appointments, emails, and walk-in advising?
- Can you share an instance of teamwork in a professional environment?
- Describe your approach if a student requested a prerequisite override for a course necessary for their timely graduation.
