Resident Advisor
So there's this individual interview where they give you the questions beforehand. They mostly want to see who you are and how you'd handle a position like this. Resident Advisor is one of those jobs where your personality really matters. You don't have to be super outgoing (I'm actually pretty shy), but you need to seem friendly, responsible, and like someone who would value the experience. Then there's also a group interview where you all tackle a discussion-based problem together.
- Can you share some of your past experiences?
Store Associate
you go in and sit down with one of the supervisors. You then get asked questions about yourself and the skills you have to give to the position. You get to know when you are accepted the same day
- What contributions can you make to the company?
Assistant Professor
I was called by the university to schedule a campus visit. When I got there, I had to do a teaching demo and a job talk. After that, there was a group interview and then one-on-one chats with faculty members. Some universities don't always require the teaching demo or the group interview, but this one did. The group interview was the toughest part. By the time I finished, the bad weather almost made me miss my flight. No one drove me to the airport, so I had to get a cab.
- What type of institutions are you interested in?
Event Manager
The communication from the interviewers was excellent all through the process. Even though this was the toughest interview I've ever gone through, I felt the questions were spot on for determining if I was the right fit.
- Describe a past experience that was challenging during an event.
- Tell me about a time you had to be flexible during an event.
- How would you deal with a problem between event suppliers?
