First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
Videographer
The interview was pretty standard, like most others. They asked me about my past experience and how I'd approach different scenarios. The interviewers were friendly and gave me plenty of time to ask any questions I had.
- Regarding your experience, tell me about it.
- How would you deal with various situations that may arise?
- Is your church involvement active?
Student Worker
It was a pretty standard interview process. They ask the typical questions you'd expect in a job interview. I actually had a good time during the interview. They wanted to know about my experience, how I could be a good fit for the role, and what my strong points are. It was very straightforward.
- Can you tell me about your involvement in campus activities as a student?
- What relevant experience do you have?
- In what ways can you contribute to our organization?
Assistant Professor
The initial interview went well. The department chair indicated I was advancing to the next stage and that I'd hear back within a month. After two months passed without contact, I followed up by email but received no reply. I then called and left a message. Eventually, I got an email back with a hostile tone stating, "nobody said you were moved to the next round of interviews." My intention was simply to inquire about my candidacy status. While I enjoyed the interview itself, the subsequent communication has been a negative experience.
- Can you describe your teaching methodology and how you'd approach diverse student learning needs?
- Were you able to review the policies posted on our homepage?
Mock Interview Specialist
To graduate with a doctor of physical therapy degree, a mock interview was required. This was done to help us get ready for an entry-level job after we passed the NPTE board exam. The person running the mock interview was helpful and seemed to know a lot.
- Were there practice questions for graduate students available through career services?
